Sometimes there is a temptation of spending more time on things that do not really matter to our well being. We can learn something from this bible passage.

1Kings 20:39-40 “As the king passed by, the prophet called out to him, “Your servant went into the thick of the battle, and someone came to me with a captive and said, ‘Guard this man. If he is missing, it will be your life for his life, or you must pay a talent of silver. And as your servant was busy here and there, he was gone. And the king of Israel said to him, so shall your judgment be; yourself have decided it.”

Guard This Man. But I was too busy here and there (1 Kings 20) But I was too busy. here and there

This verse always makes me reflect on my life. I think of how busy I have been here and there.

I hope I will never be too busy for things that matter most to me; God and my family.

While you and I, spend most of our time with friends and workmates our families will be gone.

Busy here and there browsing on the internet aimlessly, one day you and I will find our eyes are gone.

While you and I, spend hours chatting on facebook with our pals our health will be gone.

Busy here and there entertaining girlfriends our wives will be gone (aged or dead).

While you and I, are busy here and there chasing after wealth and power our families will be gone.

Busy here and there politicking, our children will grow up without proper parental guidance.

While we are busy here and there with earthly things God will have completed sealing his children, closed probation and our fate decided.

I don’t know what keeps you busy but be careful not to lose things that matter most to your well being.

It’s not everything that makes us happy that matter in life.
